Publisher's description of Civilization IV Fall From Heaven mod
From Kael:Fall from Heaven is a mod for Civilization 4. Although not full featured for everything spec'ed for Phase 1 this version is fully playable. It is a fantasy-based mod that brings more focus on the religion and promotion aspects of Civilization 4. Toward that end there are unique religion units, increased XP, unit upgrades that last throughout the entire game (a Scout can be upgraded to a Hunter, then to an Assassin, then to a Shadow). Promotions have had their effect increased and many new promotions have been added. The Tech Tree, Units, Religions, Buildings and Civics have all been rebuilt from the ground up.
Spells have been added to the game including Cure Disease (Removes the Diseased and Plagued negative promotions that spread in the game), Bless (gives the units a moderate strength increase until their next battle), Fireball and the ability to Summon Fire Elementals and Demons.

Version: Civilization IV Fall From Heaven mod 0.7
Pros: While Fall From Heaven (FFH) is not yet finished it is still THE most fun mod I have yet played. The addition of MANY new special units and a slew of specialised unit promotions (Demon Slaying, for example), mythical creatures, slightly modified rules - there are just TOO many differences in this mod to list!
Playing FFH I really became aware of how useful my units were, partially because of the rate at which they are promoted (due to an increased number of beasts and mythical creatures roaming the map), the AMAZING array of new promotions available to units (one of the best rounded promotion trees I've seen), the movement bonuses ALL units can access, and as Scouts can now attack (!) they become an even more valuable anti-beast/mapping asset. The Movement bonuses are especially useful to all - allowing you to really clean up those tribal villages and get even more gold, tech, and experience!
FFH also takes more of a focus on reasearch - with a whle bunch of new branches added to the Technology Tree, and a slew of old ones modified in interesting ways. Many techs have the 'first to research gets ___ free' bonus, which makes keenly chasing them a must!
Don't forget your cities, though, as if I'm not mistaken the 'difficulty' level for managing these has increased somewhat. Don't worry, as resources abound in this Mod!
The most important thing to note about Fall From Heaven is that it has been completely rebuilt from the ground up! This means everything from the Tech Tree, to Religions, to Units, to, well, everything, has been completely redesigned! That alone should indicate the care and quality that has gone into this almost-masterpiece. I can't wait for it to be finished so I can give it a '5'.
Cons: Oh and what do I mean by not yet finished? Well what I mean is that while you can have 'A Lot of Fun' with FFH, there are many bugs (none game crashing) that affect things throughout, some crucial things are almost impossible to access (the entire Civic screen is broken, for example, and forces you to make selections only on the map as there is no "Anarchy" option on the civic screen...), and I'm sure I'm missing many others besides.
However, even with these OBVIOUS (and, presumably, soon to be rectified) faults, the strengths of Fall From Heaven cannot be denied - it is greater than the sum of its parts. You must play it @_@

"Great Idea...still too buggy and no updates."
Pros: The units are fantastic, the unit promotions are fantastic...everything new and added is awesome!
Cons: there are no updates and there are some bugs that shut the game down. Also it would have been a bonus if there were new leaders added.
