CINEBENCH is the free benchmarking tool for Windows and Mac OS based on the powerful 3D software CINEMA 4D. Consequently, the results of tests conducted using CINEBENCH 9.5 carry significant weight when analyzing a computer�s performance in everyday use. Especially a system�s CPU and the OpenGL capabilities of its graphics card are put through their paces (even multiprocessor systems with up to 16 dedicated CPUs or processor cores). Pros
It runs the same CPU and GPU tests on both Macs and PCs.
Cons
This latest version will not work on many older Macs. On my G4 it declined to run a graphics test because it says my video card does not use OpenGL. In fact it does.
Summary
Don't download this unless if you have an older Mac. The older version 10 of Cinebench works well. However, finding the older version 10 that works on older Macs is difficult. The vendor doesn't offer it and nor does CNET--as they falsely indicate here.
