    Version: Capturix NetWorks 1.7

"Disaster by downloading, it wasted no time giving nothing but grief."

by surferpro on April 15, 2006

Pros: What I liked about this product was how it motivated me, for the first time in years to actually write a review of a software product, after downloading well over a hundred programs. The price at $19.99 is not bad and it has an attractive interface covering a good range of network tweaks and utilities. They cover nearly all the bases when it come to network diagnosis (as far as I know).

Cons: You can tell a lot about the attitude of a software developer by what they give you in the trial version of their offering--this outfit gives you nothing to go on (without registering first). Programs I have purchased are the on that give nearly full use of the software first.

With Capturix NetWorks tool kit not only could I not use most of the tools (without registering first), it caused my system to shut down. Every time I booted Windows XP Pro up, it caused it to shut down again. After three or four rounds of this and experiance a mild sense of panic, I thought about jumping to "Windows Task Manager" and used it to kill the three processes it was running at startup. After that, I wasted no time in to the Control Panel and using Add or Remove Programs to remove this piece of work. By downloading this program, I had hoped to solve my networking problems not compound them. My system is complex and home-built, maybe not as stable as most others. Therefore, it may not pose a great risk, yet time and more customer feedback will tell.
