Though this rendering of North Carolina's famous Cape Hatteras lighthouse suffers from a lack of features, it scores points for its dynamic presentation. At first, the screensaver appears to be just a daylight shot of the lighthouse, with clouds and seagulls floating through the blue sky creating shadows on the water. However, after a few minutes, the sky slowly fades to dusk, gradually growing darker until the lighthouse's beacon begins rotating across the screen. Although the seagulls' flight didn't look very realistic, the graphics themselves offer no cause for complaint. The biggest issue we have is with the program's slim feature set; you only can turn the sound on and off. We also think the five-day trial period is a bit short for our tastes. Still, lighthouse and maritime buffs will likely be able to overlook this screensaver's flaws in favor of the aforementioned positives.
