Selling this product amounts to outright fraud. I know because I bought it.
Having this program's source code is useless. It looks as though Cactushop spent an hour to write it and then 4 years making it impossible to understand or customize.
This program isn't worth the time it took me to write this review, let alone study its code.
I have been a professional, full-time ASP programmer for a major U.S. firm since 1998. Even I couldn't make sense of their code, but my ego made me keep going until I finally went searching the Internet for a place to post my review. If you bought this product, I suspect you'll do the same.

"Not scalable at all"

Summary
When tested (MS SQL version) with a lot of items and several people using the site, performance was terrible�& After reviewing the code, I found lot of amateur mistakes�& It is obvious that this application was not well coded which is the reason for its scalability problems. If purchasing this product, keep in mind that you may have to replace it if your store is actually successful.

I tried out the lite version of CactuShop and it looked pretty good. I didn't spend much time entering every last product into the the program since it lacked security. I was also planning to purchase a full version of a professionally designed shopping cart for my company anyway. After setting up the ASP pages via FTP, I discovered what a limited program CactuShop really is! First, the documentation is just lousy. As a shopping cart newbie (but ASP-savvy), I didn't know that all I had to do to update the front page was to access the backend administration page. That information was not clearly spelled out. Neither were the instructions for setting up CactuShop clearly laid out in the documentation. If you are not ASP knowledgeable or already a computer programmer, I strongly advise against purchasing CactuShop. Because the documentation is so shoddy, you will spend hours look for basic information in the company's knowledgebase and lousy documentation. The same can be said for the Commersus shopping cart, but at least the latter is free. My biggest problem with CactuShop at this time is its inability for customers to choose alternate colors and finishes for a product. For example, if I want to sell an easy chair, I cannot set up CactuShop so that a customer can customize the chair by picking out a pattern, fabric, wood finish, size, etc! I couldn't believe my eyes! I headed back to the knowledgebase and to the best of my research abilities, I came up with answers that essentially said "no, customization cannot be done". The other possibility is that the knowledgebase is so poorly set up that if it were possible to customize a product, I have been unable to find the article telling me so. To summarize, CactuShop is a well-functioning shopping cart with major limitations and very poor documentation and technical support. It is not recommended for those who don't know ASP and the price tag is also a major deterrent--£ 200 or about USD $320.00!

Summary
Setup was made easy because it you actually setup their demo which already has data etc in it. This means you can see how existing items are setup and learn the program that way. Lots of the standard shopping cart features are present and the template system makes it very easy to visually customize your site. Its a very nice bit of code though I haven't heard of the company before which surprises me.
