"Awesome MP3 player, especially for older powermacs"

    July 7, 2005  |   By justin92089

    Version: Cabrio 1.4.6

    Pros

this software enable users to have a very nice mp3 player that won't kill an older system. Can't use iTunes? Here is the perfect little replacement.

    Cons

The one thing that this program lacks is the power to burn cd's. Though, since i use this with my older powerbook (5300cs), it doesn't have a burner in the first place.

    "Still Needs Work"

    December 31, 2003  |   By Bordy97

    Version: Cabrio 1.4.6

    Summary

While I very much enjoy this player, it still needs work. I'd like the player to have full controls available "IN THE PLAYER" and not in the play list. Space saving is ruined if both the player and the playlist need to be on the desktop at the same time.
I've noticed a bug as well. Sometimes, while skipping around in a playlist, or while double clicking directly on mp3 files, the player will play where it left off on the last file.. Say I'm 1:30 into a song, and I double click another mp3.. the new file begins at 1:30, not at 00:00.. This is under OS 8.1 on a PowerMac 5500 /225mhz / 64mb ram.. I've never seen anything like that before.. A restart of the player will fix it every time, but that's a pain. I know it's my machine, it's junk.. but it's my favorite piece of junk :) Even with it's faults, this player is the best I've seen for older machines.
