We present an editor of new generation enabling you to work with CHM-files rapidly and easily: it will be no trouble now to make a new document, add formating, insert a picture or a hypertext link and see the result immediately! Furthermore, a document created by you can be open on every computer, functioning on the basis of the Windows operation system and you will never have to think again about the compatibility problem! Another task which can be successfully resolved when using the CHM Editor is translation of documents. Because the software may include Help File in an unknown language to you, it could lead to difficulties, and sometimes impossible to use the program you need. The CHM editor handles the problem with one click on the mouse! You get a translated document with the same formatting as in the original language. For translation you can choose one of the internet services the program works with. There are tens of languages available for translation. The CHM Editor is an excellent choice for people who deal with electronic documentation, have difficulties in using programs with CHM Help File in a foreign language, for professional translators, and those, who collect an electronic library. The program is an efficient tool that everyone should have on their PC!
What's new in this version:
Version 3.0.9 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
I like this program for its ability to translate CHM files into any language with the help of Google resources. This, I believe, is done in a very professional manner, and it was extremely handy and useful for my CHM File that I developed for my online guitar training software. I liked the number of tools to edit images, text enrichment, etc. Seems like this is a powerful tool, and there has been a lot of progress achieved after its initial release.
I wish it could convert CHM files to pdf, but this feature is not available, regretfully.
I was quite happy when I bought it and am still happy to keep using it for all my online UHB development needs.
- Clean Interface - Easy to Use (what works is easy to use anyway)
- There own help file inside their software has zero information - Find & Replace does not work - Image replacement when editing documents does not work properly - You can't setup folders inside your file structure - No support whatsoever
I'm going to continue with the Cons because the list is so long I reached the allowed limit of Cnet.
The help file inside of their own site is almost completely empty, which I find ironic since they are providing a help file creation tool. I tried to figure out how to use the "Replace" function and when I went to the Index tab of the help file and typed basically any word it did pull anything up.
I attempted to visit their online forum and got 500 internal server error, so that was a dead end.
Then I went to replace some image in an image folder inside my CHM and there's no way for me to do so. Everytime I tried to replace an image with a new image it put it in the root directory even when I selected to add the file under my "images' folder.
This program is a joke and totally not work the effort to install the trial and then definitely not worth the $79, you'll be very disappointed.
