"Suberb emulator!"
Version: C64 Forever 2012
Pros
I can use it with the games they provide (only a few of which interest me), but I can also use it with a library of the games that I own from CCS64 emulation, and can use them as .d64 files or convert them to the .rp9 files that they use. Every game I have tried works as it is supposed to.
Cons
Maybe I just don't know how, but I can't read everything that is on a disk. I play some games that require saves, and I save them to a blank disk. The saves work properly, but I have to keep a notepad on my desk and write down the save names. With CCS64 (when the saves work, which is not always--- not with the latest release, anyway), I can use an option to look at all the files contained on the disk. Many games have text files of detailed instructions, but I don't know how to access those files on this emulator.
I would also like to go to a full-screen option that maintains the windowed aspect-ratio on my wide-screen monitor (only HOXS64 does this now).Summary
Great emulator, but I would really like to be able to read disk directories.

"I had a C-64 and some of these but..."
Version: C64 Forever 2011.1
Pros
Downloaded and installed ok. Many many selections and others apparantly available online if you search
Cons
I could only get a few to run, and then not very well. The interface is clunky and inconsistent. It frequently froze.
Summary
C-64 lovers, you may like this; my suggestion is to get a real C-64 and some booster cartridges and do the real thing. I had a C-64 when they were first released and I don't remember almost any of these games; they seem to be heavily into the marginally popular, third party stuff. The key-mapping was an issue in some games. Crashes and blank screens and lockups all too frequently. I will simply let the memory of the C-64 stand in my mind as my 1st computer (first 3 actually) and leave this to the die-hard nostalgia fans. I'm too spoiled by hires graphics and more than a dozen colors.
Not my cup of tea. -
"It's OK but went with CCS64"
Version: C64 Forever 2010.1.5.0
Pros
Nice quick look at what can be done with emulators. A nice small collection of C64 games
Cons
Does not even scratch the surface of what is available for C64 emulation.
Summary
I had over 8000 roms available and CCS64 is a better option

"a blast from the past"
Version: C64 Forever 2009.1
Pros
Great to be reminded of how primitive the C-64 was! A trip down memory lane, interface, quirks and all
Cons
Some programs don't work, window is not sizable, some obscure titles.
Summary
Overall a fun download. Games have come so far that the 2D scrolling graphics are almost arcane. Still a blast, as the C-64 was my first computer and it was where I learned programming and program design and memories of my Simon cartridge had me smiling as I played through many of the games. If you never had a C-64, I would think this would appear as a really dumb program/idea; if you did have one, you deserve to take a walk back through all those silly old programs, you won't be sorry.
