From Special K Software:
This program plays the enduringly popular card game of Bridge. Use Windows to achieve the realistic atmosphere of a Bridge game with animation and sound. Playing and bidding logic vastly improved.
You can choose from different bidding conventions and styles of play. It has animation, and supports various screen resolutions and sound cards. Pre-empt bidding and playing logic has been enhanced. Better keyboard support makes playing easier. It has been optimized for Windows 8.1 and above, for PC and touch tablets.
It comes complete with a help file and on screen explanation of the bidding logic. So, is ideal for expert and beginner alike. A new tuturial option has been added to give even more
information for the beginner. All deals are perfectly random, so you can play an
infitie number of hands.
Full screen-easy to play for me compared to other PC bridge games
Lots of options-Replay hand, abort hand, see bid explanation, review tricks played, review score card, bidding hints, etc.
The bidding logic is HORRIBLE, the worst imaginable. A beginning player could do better most times
Can't replay a hand if everyone passes first round.
I don't agree with other reviews that this game is difficult to play but the terrible bidding logic is enough to totally ignore trying this game. There are so many illogical and just plain stupid bids to even describe. (many times the "computer" can't even count the points in its hands.) It's obvious the developer has no clue on how to play bridge much less design and program a game. The only imaginable use for this atrocity is maybe as a training aid to teach someone how NOT to bid. At least with the abort and replay features you can proceed to a new hand without losing lots of scoring points. You can play this game this way and just let the opposition make horrible bids and then double them. (penalty doubles are never bid by the computer by the way.) Playing this way allows you to continue until a hand is actually bid correctly. This should be completely FREE it's so bad!
Lots of hands, clear images, continuous use possible, some good challengesd.
Software errors in bidding. Hands not randomised so always attacking the bidder. Partners bids are meaningless- doesn't use Acol or any known bidding system. Forced to reply on own hand alone. becomes boring quite quickly.
It gives you the abilty to set up the biding the way you bid using some of the most normally used bidding features.
The game does not allow you the option to only open 5 card majors. When dummy open a minor suit and you respone in a major, if dummy has 3 card surport it will raise your major even though the dummy might have a 7 card minor.
Omar Sharif Bridge was propably one of the best but it will not run with Windows 7. This Bridge game is the best that I have found that will run with Windows 7.
Poor graphics, cluncky interface, lousy bidding (I opened 1c, and my computer partner passed with 11 hcp and 8 hearts! 4H cold played at 2c!). I took this off my computer after about 3 minutes. Really bad...don't waste your time, and definitely don't waste you money. There are a number of quality bridge programs out there...this is not one of them.
