• Stopped working suddenly

  Once set up it worked well.

  I thought Breevy helpful until it stopped working suddenly. I had spent a fair amount of time adding new abbreviations and seemed to work well, when one day it seemed to stop, and the reason could not be identified by support.

  Pros

  It just plain works period. I have contacted tech support with suggestions and they have always been implemented. I've owned this for a few years and it just keeps getting better. I'm a transcriptionist and Breevy helps me save a lot of time typing repetitive phrases and fix errors I often make such as type "teh" instead of "the".

  Cons

  Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other more expensive phrase expanders but then it doesn't have the huge price tag either.

  Summary

  My go-to text and phrase expander.

  I am in the medical field and use Breevy for filling out medical records and reports so that I can quickly enter repetitive phrases (I now have ~700 that I have gradually entered) without resorting to cryptic abbreviations. I am usually a Mac user and used to rely on Textexpander for this task. I now have to use Windows at work and Breevy allows me to sync with TE via Dropbox, keeping all me abbreviations together. To anyone who thinks that the price is too high, I greatly disagree as this piece of software and probably earns me at least $29.95 weekly in terms of increased productivity. The developer is great and follows up every suggestion (I have no affiliation). I rarely write online reviews but genuinely feel that this simple piece of software is worth every cent.
