This freebie lets you blow stuff up, but it won't blow your mind. Bomber couldn't be easier to play; your job is to simply use your biplane to drop bombs and destroy all the buildings on the board. Once the plane reaches the far-left side on the nonresizeable window, it quickly will reappear on the right, getting closer to the ground each time. As the levels progress, the buildings grow taller, making a crash more likely. Still, we found gameplay too repetitive, as your plane never comes under attack. The graphics seem below average, although the explosion sound effects are a bit better. Another flaw we'd like to address is Bomber's absolute lack of user customization options. But since it is totally free, we can suggest the game to those who need an occasional cathartic release during a rough workday.Publisher's description

Cons: Quickly tiresome after a few minutes for adults. Overly repetitve and predictable.

"Good if you are bored and simple"

"Nice implementation of OLD classic"
Pros: My wife liked this on the Sinclair Spectrum, but I was unable to find it for the PC until now. Hooray! Still the simple gameplay that appealed to her way back then, but now with better graphics and sound.
For those who think it only has one level , try pressing the the "return" key when the plane lands. The buildings get higher each time round. If you bomb them all quickly in the early levels you can hurry on to the next with the "left arrow" key.
Cons: On my screen, the highlight for the start and quit on the entry screen did not match the position of the "start" and "quit" text. The instructions are pretty basic, but then so is the game!

Version: Bomber 1.0
Pros: It's free and you don't have to install anything.
Cons: It's short, boring, poorly designed and crashes your computer to boot.

Version: Bomber 1.0
"step away from this program..."
Pros: Its a good concept...reminds me of the old game Sopwith...
Cons: Such a very basic program, you have no control whatsoever. You drop bomb, and after I had blown up all the buildings, the plane has to finish its cycle of flying over and over and getting progressively lower, then the plane landed, and nothing happened...
