Despite a few installation hassles, we found this suite of PDF tools easy to use and highly effective. Bluebeam Lite integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel, appearing as a small toolbar that allows you to convert documents to PDF files or image formats such as GIF, BMP, and PNG. It also converts CAD files and provides quick access to Bluebeam Lite's FTP client, though you'll need to go to the Start menu to use the watermarking feature and the file-merging utility. With the included PDF Revu utility, you can view and rearrange PDF documents and mark them up with graphics, highlighting, and text. We encountered an installation error on one Windows 2000 test system, though not on other computers. Give Bluebeam Light a test run. We think most people will find it a credible, less expensive alternative to Adobe Acrobat.Publisher's description

Summary: I would be willing to give this product a better chance... even with the negative review. (The reply from the developer helps...) But it still doesn't forgive the untrust of the developer when it comes to activation... a big "We don't trust our cust... read more >>

Version: Bluebeam PDF Revu Standard Edition 6.5.4
"Buggy, expensive support, there are better options."
Pros: It's smaller and cheaper than Acrobat (but more expensive than some other options).
Cons: It has serious bugs, Bluebeam has greedy Intuit-like support policies forcing you buy expensive upgrades and hope your bugs get fixed, it has the same obnoxious product activation as Acrobat, the user interface is awkward.
Summary: Bluebeam makes a big deal of "We Do PDF Better" and being the "Acrobat Alternative". But, unfortunately, their product is at least as buggy as the bloated Acrobat. And worse, even when their own support people acknowledge glaring defects in the prod... read more >>
