Now it is not an issue anymore to play WC3 on an INtel Mac Mini, also Grahpics is smooth enough :-)

I think a lot of people were waiting for this patch!

    "I love this game"

I love Warcraft! It's the greatest game ever! I am a little disappointed about the max # of guys being reduced to 90---it makes Warcraft more like Diablo, which I don't care for. My friends and I still mostly play Starcraft since we can have 200 guys each, and that makes for bigger and more epic battles. Suggestion: make it possible to have MORE GUYS in Warcraft III. I want 300, not 90! :-)

    Thanks! Tim Wayne

you write that you would not logon to battle.net for the patch. not "cannot" but "won't" . why "won't"? because you have a stolen serial number perhaps...?

patches are first released via battle.net, THEN via ftp. it takes a while. stop whining, please, and be glad about the fact that blizzard still releases patches for old games as well, e. g. diablo2. they offer exeptional support for (mac)gamers. 5 stars.

Although I haven't had any specific issues that needed to be resolved, it's nice to see Blizzard releasing such significant upgrades for their product. Certainly they are preparing for the expansion pack, but even those who don't intend to buy the new release seem to be served well by the efforts of this release. Thanks Blizzard!

    ...about...

but this game runs very very VERY well on a TiBook 867/radeon 9000, 768 ram.

it's truly worth every penny...there are a total of 21 heros now, tons of new units, new creeps, and new strategies, buildings, items.... IMO, this changes WC3 more than Brood War changed SC...about 10x more...and there's definitely another expansion on the way (as Blizzard has said...and you can see the obviousness of this when getting to the second campaign mission)

to answer the question below, replays (don't know about saved games) won't work once WC has been updated.

It still runs like complete crap on my dual 500mhz G4, 768 megs ram, and a Radeon8500. Ati should never have made that card, it supports nothing, literally. I've played WC3 on a dual 1ghz G4 and it didn't look that much better. Blizzard needs to get a better mac development team I think :|

Is it just me or did this get totally faster? Maybe it was partly due to OS updates of late as well... This runs much smoother on my 17" iMac w/ 32MB VRAM. The balances will hopefully make this game playable again too. Magic users were out of control in the last patches...
