For those in need of a browser with no learning curve, this freeware fits the bill. Basic Browser's icon- and toolbar-free interface greatly simplifies Web surfing. Help is a mere three lines, but even novices should pick up this app quickly.
Basic Browser may be feature-light, but it still uses as much memory overhead as Windows Explorer. This app is a good fit for any publicly accessed area like a kiosk or school lab.
This is for those who have slow computers. It uses the basics of web browsing. It has the stability of Internet Explorer but does not load up all the stuff that comes with Internet Explorer. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Only three menus: File, Tools and Help. In the menus are only New Window, Quit, Reload, Stop Loading, About Navigation, How it Works. Other than that there is a place to type the address you want, and a GO button, the usual minimize, maximize and quit buttons - THAT'S ALL. Simple, but fast. Only .01MB after installation.
Installation provided usual installer - froze my Dell, had to reboot. Can't tell if there is a history, cache or cookies hidden somewhere on my PC.
