Easy, Fast, No-frills Backup

Pros
Very easy to use. Very fast. Incremental. Good documentation. Displays progress file by file. Shows stats of items, bytes, minutes. Gives complete one for one backup of folders and files. Easy to define different backup sets - and all are displayed. One way, not synchronised - deleted files are removed from backup. Free. Quality software design.
Cons
None. Others may want to schedule backups. Bart is so easy, I just run it at the end of every work session.
Summary
Bart simplifies the backup task, so there's no reason not to do it often. It's so easy and so fast, I do it after every session - many times a day.

Pros
Does a one way sync. Other programs do two way, so if you delete a file it keeps putting it back. This isn't what I wanted. I want to sync my PC with my server, and then my server with my Laptop. I have run it twice networked with no problems.
Cons
Pretty basic, no options, wasn't a problem for me. Liked the fact it didn't overtake my PC. Scheduling function would be nice.
Summary
Overall I like it. Some extra features may be nice, but I was happy enough with the basic functionality because I couldn't find it elsewhere without paying. Previous to this I was copying manually, but I'd have to overwrite the old files knowing that the majority had not changed. To be honest I'd pay a small fee for a program that does this properly, but I don't know which one to trust, and I'm not paying if it does things that annoy me like overwrite files incorrectly or back up files I don't need. No frills is what I paid for :) I have not tested as to whether this updates files which have changed as opposed to just new files - seems to. You have the option not to delete files if you want, which is useful, and you can do a dry run first to see what you make of the files it's selected. If like me you need to sync two computers, it's nice to have the "do not delete" button so that if I create new things on the laptop I can still update them to the server. Logged in especially to review the product as the last one kept crashing when I tried to sync via a network.

Bart is a file and folder backup tool, which transfers changes from multiple source directory trees to destination trees. When run, it will copy any files which have changed since the last run, bringing the destination up to date with the source in an efficient way, copying only files required. Bart can read from a list of source directories, so not only can it keep your My Documents folder backed up, but also any other data stored on your drive in other locations. Direct the target of each of these folders at a network drive on another machine, a second hard drive in the same machine, or removable media such as a USB pen drive. When first run, all the files will be copied, and then on subsequent runs only the files which have altered will be updated, new files copied, and deleted ones removed. Bart keeps the target completely in line with the source. It does not perform two-way synchronisation. If a file in the target was changed, on next run of Bart, it would be replaced with the file from the source.
