Backup2009 Pro is an unique backup program able to create disk or partition image, including Windows file system, backup data in zip file format, and copy or synchronize files. It supports any kind of medium (network drive, USB external disk, FTP server, CD DVD...). Multiple tools help the user to take control over backup tasks. Through an Explorer like interface the user can easily access to any backup components: script detail, log files, catalog, history and available backup files. For security purpose Backup2009 Pro allows you to define an alternate destination folder, in case the primary destination is not available. You can also define a second copy folder where archive file is stored. The archive backup can also be uploaded to 2 different ftp servers. Backup2009 Pro allows to backup or copy files, even if they are open, through the Microsoft's Virtual Shadow Copy. Scripts can be scheduled. Backup2009 Pro adds tasks to the Windows Scheduler

Pros
Ability to backup files even if they are open. The heart of my business is office and Outlook and now I can schedule a quick backup every couple of hours. My emails and contacts are safe.

like the second copy folder, the file burner function and the mini FTP

I've used several of the consumer grade backup products, from Backup Vault, Iomega Backup, Back Up PC all the way through to MS' latest Live One Care. But if you are like me and are looking for both powerful and flexible features in controlling and a managing your backups, this is the program for you. Every other program I've used has always been missing one good feature, but the folks who put this program together had built something flexible enough for most everyone's needs (or situations). You can backup to FTP sites, encrypt your backups, have email alerts sent to you, use the backup planner to easily view your schedule, it even has a great synchronization function. The bottom line is, this program brings commercial grade backup capabilities to the average consumer for a terrific price!

The one drawback, which was temporary, was the wizard screen that walks you through the setup, but are only required to go through once

The fact that it puts files into a zip file that I can open with winzip

It locks up and my computer just doesn't like the software longer than a week or two. Have to reinstall all the time and the code I rec'd sometimes quit working.

Great, but really, norton ghost owns Backup2005

the cost, is not worth it, id rather pay 5 bucks more for norton ghost which i bought and sent symantec a congratulations email
