Atmosphir is an online video game where you can play and design your own adventures. Anyone can become a video game designer with Atmosphir. Even if you don't know the first thing about game art, programming, or music, you can still make fun and compelling worlds. Using a simple design editor, building is as easy as stacking building blocks on a grid. There are hundreds of gameplay pieces to add to your creations, from basic ground platforms to treasures, enemies, and powerups. Build run and jump platformers, action-adventure combat levels, puzzles, racetracks, 2D sidescrollers, multiplayer arenas, or whatever you can imagine! When you're done, upload your hard work to Atmosphir.com, where other community members can play, rate, and comment on your level. With hundreds of new levels being uploaded every day, there's always something fresh and exciting to play in Atmosphir. Everyone can find something fun to play: from beginner tutorials that teach you the basics of playing, all the way up to brutal experts-only dungeons. Levels are incredibly varied - one minute you're playing a gravity-shifting sand castle, and the next you're climbing an 100-story treehouse. Earn experience points to level up, increase your rank, and win special attacks. You can also customize your character with a wide variety of weapons, outfits, dances and taunts using the paid "atmos" currency. The optional "Player's Club" gives you exclusive presents, 5x the experience, and 500 atmos a month.

One of The Best Mac/PC Based Level Editors Out There

Pros
-Nice Graphics? -Good Controls ?-A TON of blocks and interactive objects in design mode? -Great Community? -Levels are unique and have lots of variety ?-Offline Design Mode? -Has Decent Multiplayer ?-Character Customization has a lot of variety.
Cons
-Can get really laggy on lower-end systems when you try to play bigger levels ?-Multiplayer can sometimes bug-out. ?-No Voice Chat In Multiplayer -On the Mac version the Unity setup screen lets you select a lower resolution then the game supports.
Summary
I admit, I have been playing this game almost since the very begging, and remained an active part of the community since. This was back from it's private beta 3 years ago. As you can tell, the game has a huge amount of staying power due to new updates coming in all the time. The graphics are great, and it has multiplayer. The best part to me is that it is 90% free. The devs have publicly stated in the past that they want to do that because they feel that it's not fair that users get limited features just because they can't pay. And this works out great! Design mode is full-featured for everyone and if you want to you can buy character customization items like extra weapons. But in the end it's such a small part of the game you are basically getting the entire experience for free. There are so many great designers doing so many wonderful things with the game, (Look up okaysamurai, biznatch101, munchy365 and boberto, just to name a few.) some levels actually really feel like a professional video game and really have great immersion.??That's not to say it dosen't have it's flaws. Multiplayer can be a bit buggy at times, and it does lag on bigger levels if you have a lower-end machine, but the good outweigh the bad so much that they really don't matter.??Atmosphir is a great game with great minds behind the development of it. It's free, so give it a shot. You really don't have anything to lose. And try designing a level, maybe you'll get the next Level of The Day, or even win a contest. It's probably one of the best free online games you will ever play.

Pros
Extremely easy to use, thousands and thousands of User Generated levels, and runs on PC & Mac!
Cons
Can be slightly laggy at times, especially in large multiplayer levels. but rarely gets to an unplayable point.
Summary
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys creating things (you could even use it as a quick way to test level concepts for larger engines)

This could be the best new game launched in the last several years. No one has ever done anything like this before. Building is as much fun as playing and if this is the 1.0 version I can only imagine what is coming.

The installation was pretty straightforward and i didn't have any problems installing the product. I usually play simple games like farmville or cafe world, but i might have to start playing this one more often...

Pros
I typically don't have interest in video games, but it being advertised as highly designable, I wanted to give it a try.
Cons
Running Mac OSX 10.6, the installer simply fails to locate any drive on which I can install the software. Even though I have two internal harddrives with over 100gigs of free space.
