Though not quite as robust, this productivity suite makes a decent alternative to the ubiquitous Microsoft office. Most average users won't have a problem operating both TextMaker and PlanMaker, which look very similar to Word and Excel respectively. Both of these utilities have all the features you might expect, though it may take a bit of patience to get used to the different arrangement of them. Also, when we tried to launch DataMaker and Basic Script from the toolbar in the word-processing program, we got error messages, which is a bit discomforting. And if you're looking for an office suite with a built in e-mail client or PowerPoint functionality, you won't find it here. Still, if you seek a cheaper alternative to Microsoft Office and only work with Excel and Word, there's no reason not to give Ashampoo Office 2005 a chance.Publisher's description

"product is OK, but this company sells your email...."
Pros: great trial if you dont mind getting emails from homeplacement.org and other crap inbox fillers
Cons: selling my info
Summary: companies that falsely claim to "never give your email address to other companies" should be boycotted and also should be questioned on selling more than just our emails..........not happy

"Totally AWESOME and the Price? Top of the line for less"
Pros: ease of use with functions that are easy to use and you get dramatic results. I had version 2008 and it was great, this version leads the pack!
Cons: would like to see a save to disk feature.
Summary: After using Open Office.or and Microsoft Office I couldn't pass up this product for the price and all of it's features and simplicity of use. Fliers and Bulletins are a breeze, and you can "re-due" for the next one with all your changes and add-ins.... read more >>

"SoftMaker Office 2010, stripped down and rebranded"
Pros: This is a stripped down, rebranded version of SoftMaker Office 2010.
It is still a very good product.
It is well featured, very stable and runs at lightning speed.
So forget the unstable OpenOffice 3 and those awful Asian Microsoft pastiches.
It goesCons: The SoftMaker version comes with BasicMaker, a feature you may not need, but Softmaker give good manufacturer support.
Softmaker is dearer but you get 3 licences.
A big downside with Ashampoo, is the flood of sales emails for all their other productsSummary: Do try this but also download SoftMaker Office 2010 for a true comparison.
My final preference was for the SoftMaker version.
I now prefer using it to Microsoft Office, in the same way that I prefer Firefox to IE.
Trust me, you won't... read more >> -

"Give me a chance to use it before asking my opinion"
Pros: Ask me again when I have had an opportunity to try it out

Summary: Again, untill I get a chance to use the software how can I judge it?
