From Mark Townshend :Apophysis is a freeware Windows program for designing and rendering fractal flames. It was created by Mark Townsend and has since been improved and updated by Peter Sdobnov, Piotr Borys and Ronald Hordijk. Fractal Flames were originally developed in 1992 by Scott Draves.
What's new in this version:
Supplied hqi.exe updated to 1.15. By default Vibrancy is now limited to 1. Old behaviour can be restored by setting the LimitVibrancy script variable to FALSE. Buffer depth drop down box on Export Flame dialog lets you choose between 16, 32 and 64 bit buffers for hqi.exe. Batches box on Export Flame dialog defaults to 1 when choosing 64 bit buffers, and Quality/4 otherwise. Pros: very easy to experiment with
Cons: a little hard to learn without help
Summary: not that hard to learn. you can use it even if you don't learn. easy to play with.
