    "Excellent professional slideshow-videos!"

by virtualvoice on March 23, 2008

Pros: This software is awesome. It is extremely easy to use- uploading images from your computer or importing from an existing photo account (i.e. picasa, flickr, etc...). There are a fair amount of music options as well as you can add your own music to make the video. The software makes the photos come alive and even look like video at times with their panning techniques and synchronization of photos and transitions with the music.

You can download the video to your computer or post online on YouTube. Even the free 30-second videos. While one video is being analyzed and processed, you can go ahead and make new videos. Animoto e-mails you when your video is complete which is a nice feature.

Cons: I've had a few bumps in the software, once it would not upload photos from my picasa site- I wanted to make the video the same day so uploaded from my computer instead. It worked again with Picasa when I tried the next day.

They have plans for adding text captions to the photos- it's not there yet but will be cool whenever they get to implementing it.

"Animoto fails miserably in customer service."

by danchristopherphotography on December 18, 2009

Pros: Animoto technology is intriguing with potential. But customer service is arrogant, ineffective and unresponsive. Animoto must be afraid of real human contact.

Cons: My sincere and repeated efforts to contact Animoto reps to overcome problems with its flawed on-line system were met with cryptic e-mail indifference.

Summary: As a professional who is in a position to recommend a service like Animoto to a lot of other professionals, I would not do so because of it's weak support system. Animoto's glitzy product is dramatically dulled and weakened by customer service indif... read more >>

"Their product is cool, but the customer service is not"

by chuckcho on August 10, 2009

Pros: i absolute like their cool slideshow effects and everything is automated

Cons: their customer service is not responsive at all. i sent four emails over the last two weeks, but haven't heard from them.

Summary: try their cool 30-second demo!

"Excellent, easy to use, and commercial licensing."

    by min.darren on October 17, 2008

Pros: The application is fast, easy to use, and without a lot of trial-and-error you get great results. I like that you can upload your own music also. I purchased the 3-month commercial license so that I may use these videos for my design and photography

Cons: Uploading from multiple folders requires working a batch at a time. (for most, this won't be a big deal). You can't 'tweak' an individual element once a video is produced - the up side is that I usually like the next version that comes out anyway.
