CNET Editors' review
We're always on the lookout for a good weather app, something that provides accurate information and is easy to access without getting in the way. AniWeather for Chrome is a great Chrome add-on that presents information from the Weather Channel in an attractive, well-integrated interface.
The add-on appears to the right of Chrome's address bar, displaying an icon representing current conditions along with the temperature. Click the icon and the five-day forecast will appear. The Ani in AniWeather refers to the program's animations, which we really liked; they're subtle, but they make the forecast a little more fun to look at. The sun shines, clouds undulate, rain falls, and lightning flashes. AniWeather's graphics are really top-notch; it's one of the best-looking weather apps we've seen. If you need more-detailed information, the program also has links to the Weather Channel's 10-day and hourly forecasts, which open in a browser window. The program is highly customizable, and it's easy to set your default location, choose English or metric measurements, and specify the particular elements you want to view. Like most browser add-ons, there's no Help file, but all of the configuration options are pretty easy to figure out. Overall, we liked AniWeather for Chrome very much, and it's one of the few programs we've reviewed that we plan to keep around for personal use.
AniWeather for Chrome is free. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this add-on to all users.

"It does what it says and more.."
Version: AniWeather for Chrome 0.6.19.8
Pros
Bright fast interface. Multiple locations saved. Connects to The Weather Channel.
Cons
Follows your browser history and can access your data, according to my download manager. I am not real high tech, but I am worried about my privacy. Even though CD net says it is not spyware.
Summary
If not for the privacy issues I would give this 5 stars.

"Does what its supposed to"
Version: AniWeather for Chrome 0.6.19.8
Pros
Unobtrusive in the tool bar, perhaps a tad too small to read, but clicking on it brings up a readable display. Doesn't lock up my system like several others I tried. I don't have to open a new tab to check weather with a local news source.
Cons
Wish it could access an area real time radar map for approaching bad weather.
When pending thunderstorms I rely on the local TV news web page weather and radar.Summary
Good at what it does, tells the weather predictions. It doesn't crash/lock my system and I'm not restricted to picking from only large metro areas that can be hundreds of miles from my home as my source. Would be nice if it had a NWS radar display. It works.
