AlphaXP Lite is a powerful system enhancement that adds advanced transparency effects to any Windows 2000/XP computer. It is part of the award-winning AlphaXP, the most advanced Windows transparency software available. Some of AlphaXP Lite's features include: a direct way to set any level of transparency to any window with a customizable keyboard shortcut, taskbar transparency with an optional mouse over fade-in effect.
Advanced Transparency, which is a set of special techniques that greatly improve Windows transparency, interface enhancements such as the ability to minimize to the system tray and use the entire program from there via an Advanced Menu system, a user friendly skin changer that works on the fly, a Web site style help file that details everything about AlphaXP Lite, start options such as start with windows and start minimized. See help file for changelog. Version 1.1.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

AlphaXP Lite resides in the system tray and is accessed by right-clicking the icon, allowing you to set keyboard shortcuts, toggle taskbar transparency, and change the program's settings. Users also can set the program to start with Windows. AlphaXP Lite's transparency function works great, and the very handy hot keys make changing and removing transparency levels easy, even for first-time users.
A similar feature that hides the taskbar is already included within any copy of Windows XP. Yet any user can have confidence in trying this freeware, as it works quietly in the background without disturbing you.

(note: if you using vita right on the installer click and and choose "properties" then choose the "compatibility" Tab from there choose run in compatibility mode for "winxp sevice pak 2"

Pros: neat...for a toy
Cons: quickly becomes annoying, especially with a busy wallpaper (like mine). go for it if your background won't interfere with transparent icons and such.
