None. Program does not do much. Demo.
Installer tried to install different unwanted toolbars and unwanted software on my computer. Splitter program is a demo version that does not do much. Always prompts to upgrade to the paid version. Do not waste your time on this application.
Easily split my 6-page pdf into individual pages
I have not found any
As Poakeyman indicated, you must change the output folder (bottom left of window) to a different folder, then chose 'no' when asked to upgrade.
When I picked an existing folder for output and answered "NO" to the upgrade prompt it efficiently split the PDF file I chose.
The user must be savvy enough to catch the ouput file glitch or the program will appear as if it DOESN'T work.
The first time I opened the program I noticed the output folder listed was "C:\Output." I immediately changed it to my desktop, chose the four page PDF file I wanted to split, clicked "NO" to the "Free version can not support..." prompt and four smaller files appeared on my desktop as I watched. They were as crisp and clear as the original.
IMPORTANT: The other scathing reviews lead me to believe there was a glitch somewhere. I reopened the program and the output folder had automatically reset to "C:\Output." I reran my file and found that the program DID create the "C:\Output" folder automatically, BUT it WILL NOT BOTH CREATE AND FILL IT on the first attempt. I closed the program and repeated the process and yes, the file was split perfectly into the EXISTING "C:\Output" folder.
CONCLUSION: Make sure the "C:\Output" folder exists and use it every time OR change the output folder to one of your choice Each and Every Time you use the program.
NOTE: I used the program to get rid of one page of a 304KB PDF file I wanted to email to someone. I then used PDF reDirect (FREE) to merge the last 3 pages (without a glitch) to form a crisp, clear 73KB document. Kudos to the two authors that gave me what I needed for a price that can't be beat.
For the 500 page skeptic... This program is only supposed to split. I took a 38 page PDF, split it into 38 pages (into the C:\output folder), opened PDF reDirect, highlighted every other page, and merged into a document with half the pages in less than 2 minutes. Using windows shortcut keys a user could sort a 500 page document into pretty much whatever he/she wanted in short order. The programs Work Well For Free :)
it helps me
thanl you for giving me this tool
No Pros at ALL
Did not work at all. It said it split the pages, but did not allow me to SEE them. What good is that?
This is NOT freeware...DO NOT USE!
nothing to recommend it
Can't split a file greater than one page. No value. You have to upgrade to get any use.
Adobe PDF free reader is better. I would give no stars if I could
There are none.
It's designed entirely to get you to pay for the regular programme.
It was so bad I uninstalled it within ten minutes. It's not freeware, it's an ad for the pay product disguised as freeware. This blatant trash should be removed from CNET's download list.
Very little to like here since I never got to use it.
I too discovered that the free version only allows you to split a PDF into single pages. Any more advanced functionality requires payment of $60. This product really isn't free and it's deceptively represented as such. Beware.
There are probably better alternatives out there that are actually freeware.
I just needed to split a PDF file of 5 pages into individual pages, which this software did for me quite easily
I'm not sure if the problems outlined by the previous reviewer are as he says, but this software worked well for what I needed it for. It doesn't do much but it does what it says!
Give it a go if you need to split a PDF file down into separate pages, its the only software I could find that does this!
Not Free as advertised. Severely crippled version.
Not Free as stated. Version will only split into multiple files. 500 page pdf, will end up 500 individual files cluttering up your HD. All other options are greyed out until you pay your US$80. You don't find this out until you install and open.
Who would want to do business with a company that indulges in such misleading practices? No way I'd trust them with my credit card info or even my email address!
No idea if it works or not. I uninstalled pronto. Didn't try it after seeing that I'd end up with hundreds of individual files instead of just extracting the couple of pages I wanted from the PDF. THIS IS NOT A FULLY FUNCTIONAL FREE TRIAL and it is definitely NOT FREE SOFTWARE.
Suggest you check out some other lower priced paid software that does the same job.
I will not try the free Easy PDF Splitter and Merger offered here on download.com as the company's main line of software are keyloggers. They don't even mention their PDF software on their website. Just spruke their keyloggers. Draw your own conclusions on this.
