• Worst software I have ever downloaded

  Nothing whatsoever

  Cons

  Not user friendly. Adobe website is useless in providing assistance. Not intuitive in anyway. I've had it for a month and haven't been able to use it in a decent manner. I want a refund.

  Don't waste your cash. It's awful and Adobe will never give you any support.

  Elements served me well until I could migrate to Photoshop, which of course is far more powerful.

  Pros

  Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 is PowerPC native and a used copy can be purchased for around $20.

  Cons

  Cnet hosts a page advertising the trial version of Elements 3, but only provides download links to an update for Elements 9, meaning I can't evaluate Elements 3 before buying.

  Dear download.cnet.com, It's so helpful of you to inform me that Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 isn't the current version of Elements, because without your help I never would have known about Elements 9. It's completely out of the question that I'd know Elements 9 only supports Intel chipsets and thus won't run on my old fashioned PowerPC, since I've never heard of it. In fact, you were so determined to be helpful in my endeavor to download a the free trial version of Elements 3 hosted on your site that you replaced the download link for the Elements 3 trial with a download of an Elements 9 update. This, of course, made it quite impossible for me to download Elements 3 from your site; one of the few sites that doesn't simply link to the developer page. (Adobe, of course, fails to acknowledge any version older than Elements 9.) If I could run Elements 9, I would have downloaded the trial from Adobe with no reason to even visit your site. I didn't waste hours of my time that could have been spent working on commissions searching for a valid download link of Elements 2 or 3 because I think they're recent, it's because I want to try them out before I invest in a used copy. While other sites merely inform me that their download link, which led to Adobe's download link, is no longer valid; you got my hopes up by pretending to host the trial, insulted my intelligence by providing a download link to Elements 9.0.3, and aroused my ire by providing no download link to Elements 3 (as was promised.) Here's hoping that your employees, their immediate family members, and all of said family members' closest friends choke to death on giant, syphilitic penises. Sincerely, Kardas W. Fox

• mac version does not work with network drice

  worked ok until I tried to import pictures from network drive.

  will not work on network drive-hangs up generating thumbnails

  Summary

  Have been a pse user for a long time but bought a mac about a year ago. Was excited when pse 9 added an organizer but unfortunately it does not work if you have pictures on a network drive.

  Easy to use. The tools are intuitive. For the price of about $100 most people will find it just right for the price/performance.

  Cons

  You might like to view tutorials on YouTube or buy a book. I'd view the tutorials first. You will discover that Photoshop Elements to be more intuitive than you think.

  Summary

  If you are an amateur photographer and want to get to the next level this is the gateway. Later on, as you gain experience in digital photography, you may with to graduate to the more advanced Adobe products.

  everything is logically designed for simple and easy use. The most efficient tools (for photographers and hobbyists): 1. shadows/light 2. enhance 3. unsharp and various options these three tools are the best.

  tried all of the popular titles, and didn't like. Pixelmator comes close, but....but....

  Read the System Requirements carefully. This was my first experience with an upgrade of a major application that wasn't backwards compatible.

  There is a lot of power under the hood with good quality

  Cons

  It seems that most actions need too many clicks; the obvious is not the best; integration with aperture or iphoto is not findable.

  Summary

  It may well be the must-have for photo editing, but it could be more user friendly, look and act more like most mac software and be more cooperative with places where I want to work with. The time invested in getting to know the program is usually translated into good results, but for the occasional user it is complex to remember where and how things best can be done and it seems that after every holiday the learning curve starts again. However, it is a recommender. The programs works, the results are good and for the price it is hard to find a better photo editor. It is nice to be able to work towards different purposes from the same original: i.e. copies for print, or (safe for) web or otherwise, but they are not kept in a library and one must organize the output outside Photoshop Elements. The 30 day trial option is a good way to see if you can get to grips with all the power and the complexities. My guess is that most will see more benefits than obstacles and dash out the reasonable amount for the purchase.

  Less complex than Photoshop.

  Cons

  too arcane. too hard to learn. the only thing it does easily are distortions and tricks but then lots of other image editors do that at a lower price. Elements is $99, Acorn easier and only $49.

  Summary

  If you jare going to be working on graphics consistently then it is worth the time to learn but it is too complex for occasional jobs.

  Lack of price integrity/having to hunt around to find the best deal.

  Summary

  I tried a lot of the other free-to-modestly priced digital editors - GIMP, Pixelmator, etc. - and all of them, while good, had various challenges, many of which involved ease of use issues. While the list price for Photoshop Elements is higher than all these other ones, you can almost certainly get it for a lot less (probably less than $60 - I got mine for about $35 after a $20 upgrade rebate). Photoshop does more than all these other programs with a better interface, much greater ease of use and great integration with iPhoto.
