Cluttered menus, slow operation, inelegant, un-Mac-like GUI ? obstructs creativity w. flawed & obtrusive work surroundings. Many good features, all quite well-hidden. A dated piece of software, it might well go the PageMaker way for similar reasons.
Summary
On the Mac there is unfortunately no real alternative to it anymore. There used to be one, Adobe iced it some years ago: FreeHand; they also failed to even really scavenge it.

if you used to drawing in Photoshop with the curve tool then this is your step up.
clean, smooth, colorful, creations just needs a little practice.Cons
much different then Photoshop, a lot of tools that seem useless to me.

im a digital artist and as soon as i saw this i was awe struck. this fits with everything i could ask for. the smooth as silk lines, the patterns and colors. and all the effects i could ask for.

Haven't figured out how to open or use the program. How can you trial something if you can't even figure out out how to open an existing Illustrator file?

Tried opening one of the programs and it said I had to active one of the other programs. I haven't figured how to do that. Would have been nice if there would have been minimal instructions and if there is I haven't found it yet. I guess I expected too much.

Lots and lots of features. I'm sure it's really great.
Cons
It would take much longer than the 30 day trial for a layperson to learn how to use this program. You really have to be an expert graphic designer to even grasp the basics.
