Publisher's Description
From Adobe Systems:
Adobe Camera Raw plug-in delivers lightning-fast, easy access - within Photoshop - to "raw" image formats in professional and mid-range digital cameras from Canon, Fujifilm, Minolta, Nikon and Olympus. Available as a software add-on that works with Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop Elements software, the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in allows photographers to directly manipulate the original data captured by a digital camera sensor, producing images with superior tonal range and the maximum amount of detail. The plug-in now also supports raw files in Digital Negative (DNG) format.
What's new in this version: Version 7.1 replaces the original Camera Raw plug-in that was installed with Photoshop CS6.

"Essential PS plug-in"
Version: Adobe Camera Raw 6.2
Pros
If you are a photographer, then Camera Raw does most of the photo editing heavy lifting. I process many shots just using Camera Raw - only using PS for more complex edits. With PS CS5, Camera Raw only got better.
Cons
There is a learning curve for Camera Raw but it's not nearly as steep as for Photoshop itself.
Summary
Camera Raw is essential and fantastic to use.
Does all the heavy lifting of digital processing - and nondistructively at that. Then follow with Photoshop for fine adjustments if needed.

"Covers all the latest cameras and easy to update."
Version: Adobe Camera Raw 6.2
Pros
Works well with all cameras that I have.
Cons
Should be an automatic update from Adobe to PS and not rely on CNET and others to tell me about it.
Summary
Good product that works well with all cameras which easily enables me to do what I want to do.

"doesn't work"
Version: Adobe Camera Raw 5.4
Pros
n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a
Cons
Does nothing, no matter what you do. (Running CS3 on XP-64)
Summary
If you can get this to work, great. Tell how in a review. Installing it in the plug-ins folder 3 different ways achieved nothing.

"Works as advertised. Batch convert RAW to PNG"
Version: Adobe Camera Raw 5.4
Pros
'Relatively' user friendly, could be better. I use a Canon 40D. Unfortunately PhotoShop CS2 won't read the RAW files. Adobe wants you to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade. Instead, convert the files with this program to PNG for free.
Cons
User interface could be better.
