Acrobat Distiller is one of the tools included in Adobe Acrobat. Distiller's function is to create PDF files from PostScript applications (including desktop publishing software). This update corrects an error in European language versions of Adobe Acrobat Distiller 4.0 that prevents some PostScript files from distilling. The error is known to occur with PostScript files produced by Adobe Table 3.0, but may also occur with PostScript output from other applications. This patch is recommended for and will work only with Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish language versions of Acrobat Distiller 4.0. This error does not occur in English or Asian language versions of Acrobat Distiller 4.0. The Update will not operate on these versions of Distiller.

Doesn't Work. Givees Poscript Error" and no PDF

None. Is a small downloadable "free" file

Had Pagemaker 6.5 which included Distiller 3. Created PDF from *.PRN file.but lost the drive. Re-installed PM65. Now WinXP doesn't know what to do with .prn. Update to Dist 3.02 only opens when I "re-install" & open *.PRN or *.PS & get error/No PDF.
Summary
Other options such as PDFCreator-1_2_0 give 1 step access to PDF from "Printer File" Driver under Print/etc. Versus 3 step process with Distiller ie Print to File/Go Find the File/Double click *.PRN and maybe get the PDF.

I too have Acrobat Reader 3.0. I also have 3.1, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, and 7.0. It won't recognize mine either. How are you supposed to get the distiller?

I downloaded this, but when it came time to 'activate' it, it said it couldn't find my Adobe 3.0! Now, mind you, I have both Adobe Acrobat 3.0 and Adobe Reader 3.0....so what's up?

You have to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat to install the upgrade. It's not going to help anyone who only has the reader.
