If protecting your Internet privacy is a priority, Act History & Pop-Up Killer & Web Content Filter does an outstanding job of wiping surfing history from your PC. When it comes to features, the program has just about everything you need. You can erase any Web or system files, including cached Internet documents, cookies, and recent documents. Also, the software blocks pop-up ads, banner ads, and Flash ads. It performs well, swiftly doing its job while using minimal system resources (the process is named WashAll). The installer automatically closes any Internet browser windows, but the application doesn't take a toll on PC performance. Any user concerned with covering Internet tracks will find a lot to like about Act History & Pop-Up Killer & Web Content Filter, although we wish the trial period were longer.Publisher's description
From ActMask :Act History & Pop-Up Killer & Web Content Filter clears your Windows and Internet history tracks, stops pop-up ads, blocks HTTP referrers, filters ad content, and suppresses script viruses. It allows you to erase the cache, cookies, the history, typed URLs, the autocomplete memory, index.dat files, Windows temp folders, the run history, the search history, open and save histories, and the Recent Documents list. You also can erase the tracks of popular Windows applications.
With the Ads Block feature, the program can block pop-up windows, banner and Flash ads, and ActiveX objects. You can protect IE's home page, repair default Windows system settings changed by script viruses, and disable script viruses. Version 4.03 changes default setting for ads blocker.

Version: Act History & Pop-Up Killer & Web Content Filter 4.03
"Great, this product is great"
Pros: I use I.E. as well as alternate browsers based on the I.E. engine. I recently tried to clear my history after using an alternate browser. Well, I double checked after doing this, and my history folder still had every site that I had been to, so I went to I.E. tools, internet options and deleted all of my records, but guess what? When I re-opened my history in one of the alternate browsers, it was still there, and it showed up again in I.E. as well! I deleted the records again, both from my alternate browsers and from I.E., but my history kept popping up again from the alternate browser cache, and from there it went back into I.E also. Then I went to Windows Disk Cleanup on my computer (I use XP) and tried that, also rebooting, but it still didn't work!
I went to download.com and found ACT History and Pop-Up Killer and it worked great! This product is absolutely the best. The last time I wrote a review for a product on download.com was about five years ago, and I love all of the little gadgets I can use, and felt so strongly about this one I had to sign up again and write a review
