Publisher's description of Abra Screen Recorder
From SentryWorks:Abra Screen Recorder is a powerful yet easy to use software product that allows you to create training videos and FAQs, presentations, software demonstrations and screencasts that can be published to the Web. Using the built-in timeline based Video Editor, you can add audio tracks (WAV), Picture in Picture Video (AVI/MPG) for on-screen training, and even crop or resize a recording to a specific size. You can even edit any individual frame in a recording using your favorite image editing application like Photoshop or Fireworks. Abra comes in two paid versions. The Professional Edition is designed for single user environments where you are recording your own machine for publication. The Contact Center Edition is designed to record or live monitor multiple "Agents" in a networked environment. The Contact Center Edition includes features such as Instant Messaging and Live Monitoring of Agent workstations.
Version 2.10 adds FLV support and Flash player controls.

Version: Abra Screen Recorder 2.10
"Best Screencaster I have used"
Pros: Got newer version from company web site. Easy to schedule recordings and outputs to FLV with a built in Flash Player. You can record and FTP the FLV and HTML files to the web. Then you just click and play back. Does not get easier than this.
Cons: The version on download.com does not appear current since it does not include the recording scheduler available from their web site?

Version: Abra Screen Recorder 2.10
Pros: I like the fact that this is a freeware version not a timed trial. The two minute recording limit of the free version is just about adequate for most needs. I also like the fact that the product is built unlike other screen recorders in that it was designed for network environments with presence detection of all machines. The "stealth" factor and play back performance are better than all other products I tested.
Cons: The Video Editor is really simple and easy, but there are a few oddities like you can't seem to save a project for later editing (just save back to the export format). Also, unless I am missing something the exported SWF files play fine from a webpage, but are lacking any kind of playback control. All in all, these are minor issues and this is a really great product. Especially in a free version.

Version: Abra Screen Recorder 2.10
"Excellent performance and easy to use."
Pros: Works perfectly even in vista. Performance is amazing. Unlike other screen recorders it is impossible to detect this is even running when it is recording and I put it to the test recording websites with lots of animations. Also unlike Captivate and Camtasia this comes in a free version (not a 30 day trial). The free version allows for 2 minute recordings including wav audio which is acceptable for my need. The product outputs to SWF format and creates an HTML file automatically that plays the flash file with a single click on the document. Very nice tool!
Cons: Would like to see export to other file formats (including FLV). Editing functionality is very simple and easy to use, but could use some enhancements.
