"My NOD32 Antivirus 5.2.9.1. recognise it like an attack"
Version: AM-DeadLink 4.6
Pros
I didn't use it because I can't save it on my computer. The description is in Cons. Thanks
Cons
Please, can you review this software, because I wanted to use it to find my dead links from bookmarks, but my ESET NOD32 Antivirus version 5.2.9.1. the newest data base 8092, recognise it like "Win32/DownloadAdmin.A.Gen potentially unwanted application" . Can you ask the creator Martin Aignesberger what to do about it? Thanks in advance ;)

"Slow! Slow! Slow! A Snail on Quaaludes."
Version: AM-DeadLink 4.6
Pros
Reads bookmarks from a number of popular browsers as well as HTML files.
Allows you to check for and delete duplicates
Allows you to verify that the sites are still goodCons
Can't actually DO anything with the bookmarks in the HTML files.
So slow to delete duplicates from Chrome that I don't think it is really working
I haven't gotten to where I can check for bad links yet so can't comment on it.Summary
I'm used to Compass which does all of the above and FAST. I'm used to BookMacster on OS X which does all of the above and FAST. This is NOT fast.
I loaded Chrome with 27,000 bookmarks on an I5 machine running Windows 8 with 4GB of ram and a 100GB solid state hard drive. It took maybe 10 minutes for this program to find the duplicates. For the past two hours it has been "deleting" them. I'd think it wasn't working but it is chewing up 14% of the CPU and 100MB of ram. Windows task manager also says that it is not responding. Well I knew that. But the CPU and RAM usage vary so it does appear to be doing something. I just don't know what.
All I can say is that I'm glad that I don't have to pay for this software. I think that I'm going to cancel the task, uninstall the program and do the work on my Mac. It'll be a LOT faster.
