    "Light and powerful"

    April 28, 2010   |   By a_luege

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Is very light, so it can run smoothly and without complicated schemes. Very intuitive also, I uses without reading the help file.

    Cons

The interface may be a little "old fashion", and some people may have to install java environment machine before using it.

    Summary

Light, easy and does the job quickly and accurate.

    "RAID 1 of backup softwares"

    April 24, 2010   |   By HemmoA

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Simple and easy to use. Does not use it's own cryptic backup database files of formats, but simply copies the files and folders as they are.

    Cons

No way to specify file types you don't want to be backed up.

    Summary

This is like RAID 1 of backup softwares - not perhaps the fastest and most efficient way of backing up, but when something gets really broken, you'll be happy that the backed up files are easily accessable even without the backup application.

"Very simple, not good for my purposes"

    September 08, 2009   |   By cheriberry

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Quickly installed & ready to run, straight forward, small size

    Cons

    Not much functionality

    Summary

I opened it & decided to go with Cobian Backup instead which has a host of features.

For simple straight task this looked perfectly good. I didn't try it out.

"Don't have to be a geek."

    August 16, 2009   |   By gregmcz

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Easy & fast installation, simple & straight forward to use, appears to do the job right, economy price (named my own price!),

    Cons

Wish it had a current summary page listing all backup jobs with last backup date - instead I have to scan the software log to find each job. I've been unable to make Windows Scheduler run it (no doubt my fault).

    Summary

Excellent value, I will probably stick with this for the foreseeable future.

    "Could not convince me"

    February 02, 2009   |   By anthas_bliss

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Does not take up too much system sources
    Clean GUI

    Cons

Was not able to make backups the way I wanted it, I missed advanced configuration possibilities. Maybe it can be done, but the Spartan interface could not help me out.

    Summary

Program is tough to learn but I think in essence it's good. It's small and stable, doesn't require a full installation. Although, I'm looking for something with a little more versatility so this could not convince me.

    "Good & simple."

    November 05, 2008   |   By ace58

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

    easy to use; free

    Cons

really minor detail - my shortcut is a DOS command.

    Summary

i'm a former Diskkeeper user. this product is NOT in the same league, but its simplicity allows it to finish sooner and with less overhead on your computer's resources.

"AGK backup is the easiest backups"

    September 01, 2008   |   By calbrown

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

It's fast and backs up everything I want it to,and it's faster than any other back up I've tried

    Cons

I'd like to have it so you could set a time and date to back up automatically and ther is no update key to check for updates.

    Summary

it's easy to use and understand how to work it,
I just started using AGK back up and will keep on using it because it's fast and easy to use,and does everything I want to do.

    "This Backup is Great!"

    July 05, 2008   |   By jamie.schwartz

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

This backup utility is more than just easy to use. The test of a backup program occurs when you need to do a restore. After reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows, I just downloaded AKG Backup again and restored my backup of Documents and Settings. My new computer files were then indistinguishable from my old ones with every bit of data intact. Moreover, when I had a little confusion (self inflicted due to forgetting that I used compression for my backup) the programmer replied to my email within 12 hours and set me on the right course. I would recommend this backup to anyone.

    Cons

    None.

    "Easy to use and fast!"

    November 10, 2007   |   By ingenious1

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

I am still learning to use AKGbackup but so far I like it's simple interface, it is not a large application so it dose not take up much disk space and it runs really fast. The compression function is fast as well. You can not beat it, there is not much free backup software out there that is this simple to use, it's java, I like it!

"Seems to be a pretty cool little tool. Simple and to the point. "

    August 01, 2007   |   By CountSancho

    Version: AKGBackup 2

    Pros

Easy to use, very simple interface, so easy a caveman could do it!

    Cons

It would be nice if the software would allow users to create folders while browsing for the destination drive, this is just a minor annoyance and not a deal breaker. Maybe that feature will be implemented in a future update.
