"Be careful where you download from"
Version: 7-Zip (64-bit) 9.22 beta
Pros
The program is a Swiss Army® knife for file extractors. It can extract all the most common typed of compressed files.
Cons
If you are not careful of where you download this from. You could end up with tons of spyware and other useless junk on your System.

"Works but requires extra steps to use"
Version: 7-Zip (64-bit) 9.22 beta
Pros
1. Does what it says it will do.
2. FreeCons
Takes a few steps to use. First you need to know where the file you want to unzip is located. I had to search for the file. Winzip--which is NOT truly free-- finds the file for you. Y-Zip (64-bit) requires you to find where the file is located. Once you find exactly where the file you want to unzip is located, go back to 7-Zip and find the file. Click the file then 7-Zip does the rest. People who do not understand how to find where their files are located on their computers may have trouble using 7-Zip. That is what all that "GUI" and "Interface" stuff is talking about in other reviews.
Summary
7-Zip unzips files very well and in my case, very quickly using Windows 7. You may have to use some old computer skills or learn some new computer skills to send 7-Zip into action. 7-Zip is not one of those "Plug and Play" software that we are spoiled with these days. You will have to think to use 7-Zip...or just pay $30 to another company so you do not have to think. I gave 7-Zip 5 stars because it did what it was supposed to do, did it well, and did it free. If they charged for it I would downgrade it to 3 stars because of the extra steps I had to take to use it.

"Won't work for me"
Version: 7-Zip (64-bit) 9.22 beta
Pros
Price is right
Cons
Doesn't like me, I guess. I haven't been able to send a single item that has arrive at its destination in a a useable state. There are no directions that make it easy to use.
Summary
No matter what I do, every piece of information I have tried to send zipped has arrived in a garbled state that is completely unreadable or viewable.
