Publisher's Description
From RaMMicHaeL:
7 Taskbar Tweaker enables you to tweak your Windows 7 taskbar. Some of the features let users display the standard window menu on right click instead of jump list, close or focus a window on middle click instead of running a new instance, disable grouping of windows by file path or application id, cycle through windows of a grouped button on left click instead of showing a thumbnails preview, open with while dropping a file on a taskbar button instead of pinning, and disable thumbnail previews.

"Middle click now makes sense"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 3.4.1
Pros
Gives the options to change a lot of small interaction details in Windows 7. I really love being able to close windows with a middle click and "show desktop" by clicking the an empty space on taskbar.
Cons
None that I can think of.
Summary
Great software for small UI tweaking.

"A godsend for people who appreciate efficient UI-design"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 3.2.1
Pros
One is able to adjust anything that at least I have found regarding the task bar to make it work like it did in XP (but with a lot more options, so one can choose to combine the best of both worlds - 7 and XP).
Cons
I have found none.
Summary
Don't listen to the warnings about spyware. That was an old issue (isolated false positives) and has been resolved since. I just checked the version I have installed (v3.0) on www.virustotal.com and everything is fine. I would recommend you do the same if you are unsure.
Otherwise, the this nifty tool is everything I waited for for YEARS because I despise the Aero user interface. It is especially great in combination with Classic Shell - makes it possible to mod both the start menu and task bar to work just as fast (and possibly faster, if you do find that certain Aero features speed up your work flow - you don't HAVE to make everything work like it did in XP) as it used to. And because I read one review complaining about limited features... that is flat-out ridiculous. Personally, I only wanted to have back the XP-style taskbar and found it could do a lot more than that AND the developer was adding feature month after month it seemed. And remember... it's freeware! Considering how essential it is though and how I felt that this individual has made the wrongs that Microsoft's UI developers did right, I was one of the people asking for a donation option. And just a few months ago, it has finally arrived. -
"Full set of customization for taskbar"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 3.1
Pros
Allows you to configure the Windows 7 taskbar as YOU want, not as Microsoft wants.
Cons
Developer doesn't listen to many feature requests and features of XP taskbar like showing number of grouped programs and combine after opening only certain number of windows of a program, are still missing. The Taskbar Inspector feels cluttered because it unnecessarily shows AppIDs and program paths.
Summary
Best tool overall to customize the taskbar.

"Smart. Does properly what Microsoft has done wrongly."
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 2.1.6
Pros
Allows breaking group-bindings in taskbar. With 7TT you can move any one element really separately from others, depending on your preference and subject correlation and not software one.
Cons
Not found.

"Okay product, has potential to run rampant."
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 2.1.5
Pros
good if you need to tweak your taskbar.
Cons
It started running one night and of the eight gigs of ram i have it was using up 92% of it. My computer was at a crawl because of this program. I don't know why it did this, but I had to use the task manager to stop it; and then I uninstalled it.

"It does what it's supposed to do."
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker 2.1
Pros
It runs without interfering with anything. Easy to install
Cons
There are no cons

"Awesome tweak"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker
Pros
There are some handy customization options that make browsing more efficient
Cons
Option to display title+icon or just icon would be great.
Summary
The thing I love most about this tool is that it groups windows explorer folders, but keeps the titles displayed. It un-groups when you move your cursor above it and it groups back when you move your cursor laterally above the icons.
Correction: the explorer folders seem to group back automatically when the mouse cursor is moved away from the icons.

"Works perfectly, with no side effects."
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker
Pros
Allows the users to switch a variety of functions back and forth between the classic and windows 7 operating styles.
Tested for over 3 months; I can't find any evidence of malware.
Scanned with Norton, and McCaffee, and both report it is clean.Cons
None that I can find.
Summary
Wonderful little program, it does what is says it's going to do, without any negative side effects. It takes up very little memory, is customizable, and best of all is free. I'd highly recommend.

"ComodoAV & Malwarebytes AM UnclassifiedMalware@88463289"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker
Pros
Does what it claims
Cons
Stays in the system tray. Since Comodo Anti-Virus calls it "Trojan" and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware designates it as "UnclassifiedMalware@88463289". AVG catches it as ID-Threat.
I am not using it.Summary
Potential Malware. I would not recommend it since it fails the tests by AVG, Comodo Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

"The program does what it sets out to very well!"
Version: 7 Taskbar Tweaker
Pros
Only program that disabled "Grouping" completely in Win7
Cons
None that I can think of.
Summary
Program accomplishes what it was created for very well. Considering there are no known registry settings that allow you to disable the taskbar grouping behavior (Windows XP "Grouping" is different from Vista/Win7 "Grouping") this program is a godsend.
