If you're planning to construct your own house, you might benefit from 3D Landscape for Everyone. The installation takes a while. The software starts your project totally from scratch. You build the whole infrastructure around the house as well as the house itself. The program concentrates on the exterior parts of the house, such as its location as well as the location of the fence, garden, and trees. You also can throw in a swimming pool, tennis court, garage, or flagpole. The program previews how the whole lot will look after you make your changes. You can easily resize or remove any created image, which makes editing a breeze. 3D Landscape for Everyone is simple enough that window-shoppers can play with it, yet it may be genuinely useful for scoping a real project.Publisher's description
From Upperspace :3D Landscape for Everyone features drag-and-drop ease of use. The landscaper can quickly and easily edit placement, size, and rotation to design the landscape using an item's selection handles. The program comes with all the easy editing tools that made Windows so famous: cut, copy, paste, undo, redo, erase, rotate, and scale. This makes it fast and easy to move a house into the center of a property at an angle, enlarge a gazebo, line a driveway with juniper, or fill a yard with spring tulips.

Version: 3D Landscape for Everyone 2.0
Pros: This is a great program for laying out ideas quickly. Worked for me on the 1st try and after minimal reading I was running all out. At first you might get the impression you are extremely limited in functions (for example cant draw steps for a deck), but by layering items over each other at different height nearly anything can be accomplished. So many of these programs require so much of the user you just get frustrated, this is not one of them. If you are just trying to get ideas, this is worth the time!
Cons: While there was nothing I didnt like, this is not the program for you if you looking to calculate a materials list, do complex deck design ( no curves ). Also plant library and material finishes are somewhat limited. Like I said this is strictly for laying out and getting ideas.

Version: 3D Landscape for Everyone 2.0
Summary: When I start the program I get the message "Run-time error '13' Type mismatch", then I click OK and the program starts with empty buttons and nothing is working. I'm using windows XP pro.

"Easy & Fun. So easy my four year old (who can't read yet) can use this program!"
Pros: This was so easy to use my four year old (who can't read yet) created a design within 30 minutes of 1st seeing the program. My six year old had no trouble with her 1st design either. They are using it for fun. You can even put Christmas Lights on your house, view it at night & with snow. What fun. Needless to say, it's easy enough for us adults to use. I liked the free trial enough that I will purchase this. I found it very easy to use & fun. Would like to be able to design the interior of the house.
Cons: Wish you could import new objects & photos. Hopefully that feature is coming.
