Used 3D Ant Attack for Windows?
Editors’ Review
We'll admit up front that we never played the original Ant Attack--we were still in diapers when it was first released--so we're not prepared to tell you how 3D Ant Attack stacks up to its predecessor. What we can say is that this arcade-style game, despite its apparent simplicity, is both challenging and exciting.
The object of the game is to rescue a series of people from a 3D city that is swarming with giant ants. Users can defend themselves by jumping--either on the ants, to stun them, or to higher ground--or launching grenades that paralyze or kill the ants. The game's controls are simple with just arrow keys, the space bar, and a grenade-launching key, but the game is still quite challenging. In the beginning, even navigating around and through the city's walls and other obstacles is difficult. As users progress through the game, the people they must rescue are located in increasingly hard-to-access locations. With a limited amount of time and ammo, players must use their resources wisely to succeed. Although giant ants might not sound particularly exciting, we found the game to be quite stressful, in the way that a good video game of this type should be. The graphics aren't fancy, but they're of good quality for what they are. Overall, we can't say that we particularly relished being eaten alive by giant ants, but 3D Ant Attack is fun.
3D Ant Attack is free. It comes as a ZIP file and is accessible after extraction with no need to install. We recommend this game to all users.
