You have to type 0D0A0D0A in hex field not in ASCII field? The search/replace function starts from current cursor to the end of the file.

So you didn't notice there is a link to 1Fh in Start->All Programs->Accessories? You also didn't figure out you can open ANY file with 1Fh just by right clicking on it at choosing "Open with 1Fh" from context menu? There is really no need to go to C:\Program Files\1Fh\...

So you also didn't figured out that you can switch to hex view by pressing F4. Or by going to Option->Fonts... and choosing "Hex" as a font type?

All your cons are invalid and I can only wonder why are you calling yourself a geek...

    "Looked promising"

    June 15, 2008   |   By Jim Harmon

    Version: 1Fh Binary/Hex Editor 1.16

    Cons

All I wanted to do was eliminate double spacing. I was going to do was search for 0D 0A 0D 0A and replace it with 0D 0A 20 20. All seemed to be going well, until I actually tried to execute the search. I clicked on the "Ok" button... and I could swear I actually heard the program chuckle at me and mumble "Yeah, right. As if!" It did nothing at all.

The installation should have been a tip-off that more thought need to be put into the program. After running setup, it neither showed up with an icon on the desktop (acceptable, but annoying) nor did it even show up under the Start | All Programs listing either! I had to navigate to the C:\Program Files\1Fh directory myself.

It would also be nice if there was also a hex display. ASCII is a nice and often useful display, but some of us geeks prefer to look for "0D" instead of a musical note.

    "It's not a hex editor"

    August 14, 2007   |   By ibender

    Version: 1Fh Binary/Hex Editor 1.15

    Pros

    It didn't crash.

    Cons

It's simply not a hex editor. There's no way to display the contents of the file in hex. Worthless.

    February 15, 2006   |   By pakcikkantin

    Version: 1Fh Binary/Hex Editor 1.05

    Pros

This product worth the size, and the interface just meant for its use, to view long and big binary files. Provide installer and unistaller and it doesn't crash the files you open. Easy installation and unistallation

    Cons

It cannot do much other than viewing binary files or large files
