If you're comfortable browsing for files and can push a button, you can use this effective file deletion tool. 1-abc.net File Washer proved to be as easy to use as it was in permanently deleting files.
The compact interface gets right to business, offering four buttons along the bottom to add files and folders and delete items. A pull-down menu lets you choose from eight wiping methods, including Gutman. We liked the brief but helpful onscreen descriptions for each method, although the English was a little rough. Once you hit the Delete Files button, a prompt appears asking if you're sure you want to delete the files permanently. Although it took one more click to get rid of items, we appreciated this safeguard. The program throws in a few extras to empty the Recycle Bin, and delete Internet history and cookies, and also allows more advanced users to delete an entire drive. A Help file is available, but most won't need to even open it.
The initial trial period is only 10 days, but you can extend it for an extra 20 with a free key. All in all, we found 1-abc.net File Washer to be a simple file deletion tool that's suitable for any user.
Publisher's description
From 1-abc :By deleting files/folders/drives with this program you can switch between 8 different erasing methods, and all of them overwrite your old file and rename it before removing so the only thing that could ever be recovered with an undeleting tool will be senseless data. As a special feature you can overwrite files you want to delete with another file too, so whenever someone tries to reverse the wiping, he only gets the things you want him recover. Load and save project lists, wipe recycle bin, wipe all files on a drive, wipe content of special folders, start the program from the right click menu of Windows Explorer.
