Via511 for iOS

Via511 provides the user with highly accurate information about the travel-time through known bottleneck areas. The initial deployment of Via511 will be used to collect, measure, and analyze bottlenecks along the entrance routes leading to U.S. military bases. These bases depend on the ability to move a large volume of military and civilian traffic efficiently through these bottlenecks every day. These bases and the communities surrounding each base do not presently have accurate data with respect to the length and variability of the bottlenecks. The source of the required data is the mobile devices carried by the occupants of the vehicles in each bottleneck. The unique data provided by Via511 is required enable base personnel to respond to unexpected bottlenecks, emergency situations, and to plan for facility enhancements to mitigate entrance delays.
