If you're a giggling freshman-to-be, this all-girl school adventure demo should help calm the butterflies over the first day at school. Very much inspired by Japanese anime in design and tone, Summer Schoolgirls takes place in an all-girls university.
You're a potential candidate, and want to get to know the women around you. The environment is fairly realistic, and graphics are well designed. Movement is limited, however, and most of the action takes place in the narrative. We were disappointed to discover there's no way to customize the characters or the look of the game. You can't change clothes from day to day, for example, or configure how your character looks.
The story, too, can get a bit preachy, yet its themes are definitely geared more for a preteen to teen audience. Overall, this clever game may be enjoyed by young women looking for a little insight to the big changes ahead when moving away to college.
Do you understand what's going through a girl's mind? Summer Schoolgirls is a visual novel/adventure game. You play a girl just out of high school. In the summer before university, you have chosen to attend a special program where you can visit the campus and get to know your classmates.
One of five characters will be chosen as your roommate and you must try to become friends with her, learn her secrets, and help her solve her problems. It will take clever detective work to form a lasting relationship. Spend your summer with these schoolgirls. Version 1.2 adds Vista support.
