RecogWord is developed for the purpose of allowing children to use the Text-To-Speech on their iPad to practice spelling of the words intend to learn. There are two versions of this app, the English and Mandarin language version. This is the Mandarin version. I have used this app personally to generate my daughter's interest in learning spelling. She is currently in the lower primary school.As her school is having school like every week, I have used this apps to let her enter and learn on her own instead of waiting for my availability. In the learning mode, the text will be highlighted in "red" during reading. In the "Test" mode, a screen without any words to be tested will be tested. Instead the screen will appear to allow user to repeat the words, pause, change the time interval between words realtime.As it is based on the Text-to-Speech technology, it may not be as natural as a pre-recorded voice of a person. In some instances, the words pronounced may be slightly off or not clear. I am able to accept this limitation as I will be there to provide her the guidance needed.
