Operation Outbreak (O2) uses peer-to-peer technologies (Bluetooth and WiFi) to simulate the spread of a virtual pathogen across phones in physical proximity. Once a phone gets "infected", the app goes through different stages: infected asymptomatic (which means that you don't know your is infected but can already infect others), and infected and sick, or infected and very sick. The outcome of the disease is either death or recovery. If you recover, you also become immune to it. You can use the app with a group of people and organize activities to contain the disease. Bluetooth beacons can be incorporated to simulate infection sources, protective items (face masks and PPEs) and vaccines.
