This week Google is adding an email assistant to Inbox that will intelligently draft possible responses to messages you receive.

Called Smart Reply, the response system predicts up to three possible replies based on the contents of an email and displays them in the Reply field. You can edit a suggested response or just send it. Smart Reply learns from your choices to offer better suggestions for future responses.

The update is for Android and iOS versions of Inbox, Google says, and ships later this week.
