Google this week intends to roll out an update to its mobile Calendar apps that will allow you to add to-do reminders to your calendar.

The reminders will appear at the top of the calendar window. Unlike a calendar event, which is tied to a specific time, the reminder will carry over from day to day until you swipe it away as done.

Calendar will know if you create to-do lists in Google Inbox, Keep, and Now and will display those reminders as well. And as you might expect, when you create a to-do item, Calendar will pull information from your contacts if the reminder relates to a person. If you tied the reminder to a specific time, Calendar will send you a notification.

Both Android and iOS versions of Calendar will receive the update. Google says it is working on adding reminders to the Web version as well.
