Anyone who's landed in a new city with heavy, cumbersome luggage in tow is no stranger to the struggle.

You only have minutes to spare before your next work meeting or event or hours to kill before check-in time at your hotel and are desperate to stash your luggage.

But where can you do this nearby that's also affordable and secure? And what's the policy if your stuff gets stolen?

Thankfully, the Bounce (download for iOS and Android) app connects travelers to hundreds of secured and insured 24/7 storage locations in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Chicago. Book through the app and pay just $6 per item per day.

Cancellation is free and easy, and if you run into any problems, you can take advantage of the company's 24/7 customer support.

Bounce's founders, CEO Cody Candee and CTO Aleksander Rendtslev, who've lived in 15 cities and traveled to 60-plus countries combined, knew firsthand how annoying it is for travelers to be weighed down by their bags.

The inspiration for the app first struck Candee when he was getting drinks with coworkers, a few years ago. A friend wanted to meet up, too but said he'd have to drop his work bag off at home beforehand. "I thought, 'What a waste of time,'" Candee recently told Product Hunt. "There's got to be a better way."

To make finding storage more convenient, Bounce partners with local hotels, shops and cafes in places tourists typically frequent, such as airports, train stations, popular neighborhoods and around must-see landmarks, so luggage is easy to drop off and pick up.

New users can start using Bounce after verifying their phone number. After allowing location access, they'll see an interactive map of available storage spots nearby. We instantly saw 13 in San Francisco alone during testing.

You can also filter results by other locations, dates and length of time you need. When you're ready to book, register for an account with your name, email and payment info.

In the future, Bounce plans to expand its service to more cities and add bag pickup and delivery to its existing offerings.
