This app provides physicians, payers, policy-makers, administrators, and patients with a simple and powerful tool to estimate the hospitalization cost for a wide variety of surgical procedures. There is a lack of infrastructure to calculate the cost in surgery at the individual patient level. We provide a straightforward tool to calculate the hospitalization cost after surgical procedures, using individual patient characteristics; all with a push of a button! NeuroCost will enable: - Surgeons to calculate the hospitalization cost of several interventions including spine surgery, cerebral aneurysm clipping, cerebral aneurysm coiling, and craniotomy for tumor resection- Payers to create benchmarks for the hospitalization cost of several neurosurgical procedures - Policy-makers to appreciate the variation in hospitalization cost of several patient subgroups, and tailor their reforms accordingly- Hospital administrators to perform accurate strategic planning and coordination, based on the predicted hospitalization costs for surgical interventions- Clinical Resource Coordinators and social workers to prepare for the financial needs of their patients- Patients to participate in their care, while making informed decisions about hospitalization cost
