Developer's Description

Virtual Eye Disease Experience.

As part of the federal governments National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Eye Institute (NEI) is dedicated to disseminating accurate eye health information, conducting and supporting innovative research, and training future leaders in the field of vision research.

Explore NEIs virtual reality experience to see what life might look like with vision loss from age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.

AMD causes blurriness or spots in the center of your vision. And when you have a cataract, the lens of your eye gets cloudy its almost like youre looking through dusty glass.

To access the experience: Select an eye disease (AMD or cataracts), choose your scene (grocery store and city street at night), and press the trigger to activate the eye disease overlay.
