iAirbag is one of those boring little free apps that may just save your life :) It detects accidents and helps help reach you before time runs out. iAirbag detects motion, or rather, the lack of it. You switch it on when you start driving or moving - on your bike, in your car, on a train, whatever. You turn it off when you reach your destination safely. However, imagine something goes unexpectedly wrong during travel and you are unconscious, or unable to move, or call for help. And you are perhaps away from sight, or traffic is light on the road, or it is night and nobody realizes you are lying to the side. Hope and life are slipping away. That is when your iPhone can save you. iAirbag detects the unexpected stillness and swings into action. It initiates a call to a pre-set number and helps help reach you before time runs out. FALSE ALARMS: ========= - False alarms can be an irritant, causing unnecessary anxiety, in apps like iAirbag. We have taken the following precautions. - iAirbag uses sudden acceleration as trigger that something has occurred, and then confirms the event by checking motionlessness - iAirbag uses both accelerometer and GPS data for double confirmation of motionlessness - iAirbag allows you to set a comfortable alert period before the actual alarm is fired, during which you can cancel the alarm with one touch LIMITATIONS: ======== iAirbag can only dial the preset number automatically if allowed by installed version of iOS. Also the application terminates after initiating the dialing, so if the call fails then application has no way of knowing or re-dialing. iAirbag uses your location services to double check lack of motion, so if you have location services turned off, or you don't allow iAirbag to use it, then app will just use the accelerometer data.
