This puzzle game isn t the most polished we ve ever played, but we applaud it for its variety. In short, Hexcell lets you play a number of hexagon-based puzzles. Your goal is to rearrange the individual cells to match the target picture. The Help menu item explains how certain cells behave. For example, some will form additional hexagons when clicked, while others will destroy groups of cells. Hexcell offers five puzzle types in seven difficulty levels, so most users will be able to find a challenging one regardless of their age or skill level. The graphics, music, and sound effects are nothing to write home about, but you can adjust or disable the latter two, and you also can choose to play in windowed mode. This game isn t likely to change anyone s life, but puzzle fans of all experience levels should at least give it a chance.
