When you're desperate to find a roommate, it's the absolute worst. And in a place like Washington, DC, who can afford to live by themselves? Your lease is ending soon and your current roommate is moving elsewhere...what are you going to do?

CribSplit's mission is to make finding perfect roommates an easy and even, dare we say, enjoyable process. We set out with the goal of building an app that works as easily as a dating app, but still manages to capture all of the critical information that is needed to align you with potential roommates. The quick on-boarding process allows you to see potential roommates minutes after downloading the app.

When you login and create a post with CribSplit, you let us know about your living situation. We've tried our best to accommodate the most common situations, such as:

- I live in a house with three roommates and one our roommates is moving out soon

- My friend and I are looking for a third roommate to live in a bigger place

- I'm solo and looking for another roommate to live in a two-bedroom place

From here, you're presented with options where you can "swipe right" (to be fair, you actually tap on a big check mark). And, I think you see where this is going: if the other person (or group of people) does the same, you have a new match and you can chat.
