Although it features little to set it apart from the slew of breakout-style games on the scene, Brick Break for Windows provides more of a challenge than you might initially think. This game's concept is the same as virtually all others in its class: you repeatedly deflect a ball against a wall of bricks to destroy them all and advance to the next level. At first, we found this program laughably simple, as the first level had only a dozen bricks and the second only a few more. However, as we got deeper into the game and finally made a blunder, we discovered the board resets each time you lose a ball, meaning you have to be perfect if you want to keep going. Brick Break for Windows' graphics are nothing to write home about, but the realistic sound effects somewhat make up for this. The game's feature set also is rather small, although the ability to choose from two design themes is a bonus. Seasoned Arkanoid players likely will blow through the demo's 10-level trial in no time, but newbies may find it a good way to train their hand-eye coordination.
Expected a complete game when I downloaded but found that it will cost $10. No thanks, de-installing.

OOOkay, the graphics and the skins are good, the sound and stability are excellent, but the game is far too easy and kiddish. One can experience no excitement playing the game and even a rookie can conquer the demo in 5-10 minutes.

This was a strange one for me. I'd say it's not in the upper echelon of Breakout clones (DXBall2, Wilkanoid, Warkanoid, Break Ball). However it is better than some of the games in some respects. The play control is excelent and the graphics, especially the y2k skin are good. The only reall problem I have is that the game didn't really add anything to the genre for me. I was bored playing through the levels. The demo took about 5 minutes to conquer, far to easy for my tastes, and the powerups didn't really grab my attention. Probably the top of, and only member of the 2nd echelon of breakout clones, but better still than the winbrick series and some others.
Remove all the bricks by hitting them with a ball.Use your paddle to destroy all the bricks on every level. Unique graphics, stereo sounds, and high playability make Brick Break a modern version of a classic game you'll love to play.
